Winners is an open art competition for all artists, art styles and media that is appropriate for reproduction as prints (this includes collage and mixed media that has a fair degree of dimensionality).

A student winner will be announced quarterly while all the artwork under serious consideration will be pulished in our Winners Gallery as long as the submitted material meets our guidelines.

All published artists will be paid royalties!

Not Exactly Paint By Numbers is a collaborative art competition for all artists and media suitable for reproduction as prints.

Artists will download a line drawing from our site and either faithfully reproduce it (creating the backgrounds and textures but using the actual drawing as the underlying image) or they may do an interpretation of the drawing (maintaining all the fundamental elements but ignoring the original lines).

The line drawing will change every six months and student winners will be announced. All the artwork under serious consideration will be published in our Winners Gallery as long as the submitted material meets our guidelines.

All artists are welcome!

Cash prizes to winning student artists!

Few will win, many will be published!

You do not have to win to be published. If we like your submission, we will publish you as long as your transparency or digital file meets our standards (see submission guidelines).

Receive royalties on all sales from the WINNERS competition!

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
PLEASE READ BEFORE ENTERING

Because we are looking for quality art to publish, your submission must be of suitable resolution for fine art reproduction. For that reason, any artwork that is not digital in origin must be submitted as a 4” x 5” transparency or a digital file that was generated with a professional quality medium format or large format camera with a digital back (this includes the Better Light digital backs or Imacon/Hasselblad digital backs). Please have the artwork shot with color bars and a gray scale. The original digital file must be over 120 MB but not more than 400 MB. Do not shoot your art with a digital camera and then increase the size in Photoshop. The difference is obvious and we will not consider your artwork if the file is below our standards.

Digital art should be submitted at no less than 20 inches on the longest side at 300 pixels per inch.
