Rene Disbrow
René has had a lifelong interest in the arts that led first to her studies at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California. From there she entered the advertising industry in Chicago where she worked for twenty years as an art director and advertising executive.
René’s life changed course due to a simple request from her mother in 2001; she asked René for a painting of a piece of fruit. When the painting, her first, was completed, both mother and daughter were pleased with the results. Knowing that a change of career would lead to poverty, René moved to New Mexico where impoverished artists make up much of the population. Since then René has emerged as one of the finest painters of still lifes in an art rich environment. Her sought after oils on board capture fruits, vegetables and flowers with more accuracy than would seem possible. JLI is proud to represent this amazing, emerging master.
