Jill Sanger has commissioned the reproduction of
selected
pieces of her art by the world-renowned
Zapotec weavers of
Oaxaca, Mexico.
Using traditional techniques, the master artisans
grow, spin and
dye the wools for each work of
art (view a Flash tour of the
process) before
work begins on the old-style wooden floor
looms.
The finished weavings are soft to the touch and
visually
stunning. |
